Mythili Bhusnurmath is Consulting Editor at ET NOW, the TV channel of The Economic Times, India’s largest selling business daily. In addition to hosting a weekly programme, Macros with Mythili, she writes a monthly column on macroeconomics, finance and banking for The Economic Times.

Mythili became the first woman editor of a major financial daily when she came to head the Financial Express in 2004, a distinction that she holds to date. Prior to that she edited the editorial page of The Economic Times for a number of years and was consultant to the former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh’s Economic Advisory Council and Senior Consultant at the National Council of Applied Economic Research, New Delhi.

She turned to journalism after almost 16 years with the State Bank of India and the Reserve Bank of India. She has a MA in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics (1973-75), is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, and also holds law degree from Delhi University
